the problem
Power PDF is a PDF creation and editing tool that needed some User Experience attention.
They needed to modernize their UI, and fast.
That’s where Authentic Insight came in.
problem 1
They had a robust feature set, and were able to produce it cost-effectively, allowing them to sell their product for a third of the price demanded by the largest player in the field. Sales were healthy, but they wanted to gain a stronger market position.
As part of that growth strategy, an overhaul of the user interface was in order.
problem 2
In 2014, they had not yet transitioned to the to Microsoft Office Ribbon, a style standard which had been introduced eight years ago (which is like 50 years in tech time).
problem 3
They also had icons that looked a bit old school and made the interface look cluttered. Most aggravating of all though, they were getting complaints from customers that they couldn’t find features that were “right in front of them”.
